PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an organic-inorganic hybrid glassy material given by using a raw material which can be used in a sol-gel process as a starting material.
SOLUTION : This organic-inorganic hybrid glassy material is aged in an aging step after a melting step, contains a substance expressed by the formula : RnSiO(4-n)/2 (R is an organic functional group; and n is 1 to 3) and has a softening point of ≤ 400°C. Further, the material contains a substance expressed by the formula : MO-RSiO3/2 (M is a divalent metal selected from Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba and Sn) or MO-R2SiO. Furthermore, the material contains an oxide of Nb, Zr, Ti or the like, a transition metal ion of V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn or the like, a rare earth metal ion of Ce, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm or the like, or an organic pigment. Thus, the glassy material which has low-melting properties conventionally seem to be difficult to be given, heat resistance and airtightness is obtained, and further the organic-inorganic hybrid glassy material which colors or emits fluorescence is obtained.
