PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dense crack-free rare earth silicate high temperature steam corrosion preventing coating film which is a coating film having a non-oxide never oxidized and steam-corroded even at a high temperature up to 1500°C and capable of self-repairing even when the coating film is damaged by accidents such as the collision of foreign matter under use for a long time.
SOLUTION : The rare earth silicate high temperature steam corrosion resistant film has a composition ranging from Ln2SiO5 to Ln2Si2O7 in the ratio of Lu to Si in a starting aqueous solution in the sol-gel method. The dense crack-free rare earth silicate thin film is applied on a base material by the reaction of silica produced by the oxidation of the base material in sintering with the rare earth and the sintering. The coating film has the self-repairing ability to the damage of the coating film caused by an accident in long time use at the high temperature by controlling the composition of the coating film to the composition being between Lu2SiO5 to Lu2Si2O7 and shifted from the stoichiometric composition of the compound.
