A catalyst composition for the oxidation of olefins to olefin oxides comprising a titanium-containing support, silver, and at least one promoter element selected from the lanthanide rare earths, the actinides, or combinations thereof, or combinations of at least one of the aforementioned promoter elements with Group 1 and/or Group 2 elements.
