COMPOSITE OF ARTIFICIAL FISH-SHELTER

PURPOSE : An artificial reef composition comprising environmental affinitive materials such as yellow earth and shell is provided to give a comfortable place to fish and to prevent pollution of the sea. CONSTITUTION : The artificial reef consists of 50-80wt.% of yellow earth(1-2mm size) as a filler, 10-16wt.% of shell powder(3-10mm size) as an aggregate to give roughness to the surface of a reef for formation of structure and attachment of seaweeds, and 10-30wt.% of liquid type polyethylene resin as a binder for yellow earth and shell, wherein the polyethylene resin contains 40-65wt.% of waste vinyl, 15-25wt.% of liquid paraffin, 5-10wt.% of zinc stearate and 15-20wt.% of dibutyl phthalate as a plasticizer. The yellow earth and shell powder is mixed and dried at 150deg.C prior to addition of polyethylene, which results in easy mixing with liquid polyethylene. © KIPO 2005
