A method for controlling superheating of a natural gas for transmission. A dividing natural gas from a gas compressor (106) into first portion (108) and second (202) portions. Heating the first portion (108) in a re-heater (112) to produce heated gas (111). Passing the heated gas (111) to an after-cooler (114). Passing the second portion (202) to the after-cooler (114) without passing through the reheater (112). Mixing and cooling the second portion (202) and the heated gas (111) in the after-cooler (114) to produce cooled gas stream (116). Passing the cooled gas (116) to a discharge drum (118) to remove condensate and produce partially dried gas stream (120). Passing the partially dried gas (120) to the reheater (112) in heat exchange relationship with the first portion (108) of gas to provide superheated gas stream (129), at thrid temperature controlled by an automated control loop. Passing the superheated gas stream (129) into a transmission tie-line (256) and injecting a predetermined amount of corrosion inhibitor into the tie-line (256) to mix with the superheated gas stream (129), wherein the amount of the corrosion inhibitor is proportioned in response to the third temperature.
