PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for advantageously manufacturing an irreducible dielectric ceramic having high reliability under a high electric field and the flat temperature characteristic of dielectric constant.
SOLUTION : The method for manufacturing the irreducible dielectric ceramic includes processes of : mixing a powdery main component composed of an ABO3 based compound (A expresses Ba, or the like, and B expresses Ti, or the like) and having 0.1-0.3 μm average particle diameter with a powdery auxiliary component composed of a rare earth element compound of atomic number ranging from 57 to 71, an Mg compound, an Mn compound, BaZrO3 and an Si compound; molding the powdery mixture; and firing the molding under a reducing atmosphere. The ceramic crystal contained in the dielectric ceramic obtained in the firing process has a core-shell structure which is controlled so as to satisfy the condition of (core diameter)<0.4×(grain diameter) and to have the average grain diameter of 0.15-0.8 μm and ≥1.5 times of the average powder diameter of the powdery main component.
