The method involves injecting a coherent light beam, in a fiber optic core, at an end of a monomode optic fiber (2). A particle (8) is illuminated by an output light beam (13) that comes out from the core at another end (2b) of the fiber. RAMAN rays are generated by an action of the coherent light beam on a material of the core. The wavelength of the RAMAN rays is higher than the wavelength of the coherent light beam.
