STEEL PRODUCT REDUCED IN ALUMINA CLUSTER

A steel product reduced in the inclusion of alumina clusters, which is produced by casting a molten steel prepared through the deoxidization using Al and then the addition of one or more of rare earth elements (REM) of Ce, La, Pr and Nd, characterized in that (a) the content of REM oxides in the oxide-based inclusions containing alumina and REM oxides as primary components is 0.5 to 15 mass % relative to said oxide-based inclusions, or (b) in addition to (a), the mass ratio of the total REM to the total oxygen (T.O), i.e., REM/T.O is 0.05 to 0.5, or (c) the total amount of REM is 0.1 ppm to less than 10 ppm, and the amount of REM forming a solid solution is less than 1 ppm.
