FIELD : cast iron production. SUBSTANCE : invention relates to a modifier for the production of cast iron with nodular graphite. The modifier contains a ferrosilicon alloy in the form of particles, containing, wt.% : from about 40 to 80; 0.02-10 Ca; 0-15 rare earth metal; 0-5 Al; 0-5Sr; 0-5 Mg; 0-12 Va; 0-10 Zr; 0-10 Ti; 0-10 Mn; whereim at least one of the elements Ba, Sr, Zr, Mn or Ti or their sum is present in an amount of at least 0.05, the rest is Fe and inevitable impurities, and the modifier additionally contains, based on the total weight of the modifier, 0, 1-15 wt.% Sb2O3 in the form of particles.
