Provided are a long magnetically-anisotropic rare earth sintered magnet having uniform magnetic characteristics along the entirety of the long magnet, and a manufacturing method therefor. This magnetically anisotropic rare earth sintered magnet is a long magnetically-anisotropic sintered magnet that is for enabling a plurality of magnets with uniform magnetic characteristics to be obtained after being cut into pieces, and that has an easy magnetization direction in the length direction thereof. In addition, in this manufacturing method, a fine powder, which has been filled into a filling vessel at a moderate filling density, is oriented and the fine powder is then moved to a sintering step with the filling vessel as is, or after removing the filling vessel, and therefore a long magnetically-anisotropic rare earth sintered magnet having uniform magnetic characteristics with little disorder in the degree of orientation in compression molding after magnetic field orientation can be manufactured with the manufacturing method.
