PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth magnet magnetization method which is completed for a short time without deteriorating an anti-corrosion coating film, and to provide a rare earth magnet arranged to be higher in its usable upper limit temperature.SOLUTION : A rare earth magnet magnetization method comprises a process for performing a multipolar magnetization of p poles (p is an even number equal to or larger than 4) by : heating a rare earth magnet containing at least one light rare earth element RL to a magnetization temperature T°C derived from the formula below in a range of 80-200°C, thereby reducing a coercive force of the rare earth magnet according to a temperature coefficient β of the coercive force; applying, in a pulse form, a magnetization magnetic field Hhaving a magnetic field of at least double the coercive force Hat the temperature T°C to the rare earth magnet at least once; and then cooling the rare earth magnet from the temperature T°C to a room temperature.
