PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a carbide composite material in which the carbide adsorbs radioactive cesium that is in the soil, and furthermore, the radioactive ray (γ-ray in the case of radioactive cesium) can be prevented.
SOLUTION : The carbide composite material 10 has a configuration in which a particulate coating 12 containing, as a component, iron is adhered to the particulate carbide 11. The carbide 11 is not particularly limited to, but preferably contains corn cob carbide which is obtained by burning and carbonizing corn cob. The coating 12 is not particularly limited to, but preferably contains red soil. The carbide composite material 10 can preferably be used, for example, as a soil improving material.
