PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a manufacturing method of a rare-earth magnet using a metal vapor deposition by which remarkable deterioration of magnet characteristics caused by defects, oxidization, strain or the like induced by forming, such as cutting, grinding or the like, of an Nd-Fe-B based intermetallic compound sintered magnet is prevented and improved, and a problem involved in use such as a micromagnet and a powder (used as a bonded magnet) is solved making use of effects inherent in the rare-earth metal.
SOLUTION : The rare-earth metal is deposited in a formed material or the powder of the Nd-Fe-B based intermetallic compound sintered magnet. The even rare-earth metal of a desired quantity is preferentially introduced to a surface and a grain-boundary phase due to reaction affinity between components constituting the magnet and rare-earth metal vapor, by which the fine and micro-formed material or the powder of high performance for the Nd-Fe-B based sintered magnet is manufactured.
