PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a material exhibiting (BH)max higher than that of a magnetically isotropic bonded magnet by fixing an R-TM-B based quenched powder of pulverized melt span ribbon using resin.
SOLUTION : In the anisotropic rare earth bonded magnet exhibiting (BH)max of 150 kJ/m3 satisfying the magnet shape for a miniature motor and capable of annular or arcuate shape conversion, when a compound of a magnetically anisotropic aggregated polycrystalline rare earth magnet powder and a binder is compression molded while applying an orienting magnetic field at a temperature not higher than the thermosetting point of the binder, such a binder as accelerating compaction while suppressing mutual mechanical damage of the magnet powder by buffering action of plastic deformation and sustaining hot plastic deformability even after thermosetting is an essential component.
